Amazon screwed up another order for KMont. Now I’ll be receiving it and having to send it on to her. Amazon had better get their act together.
Contests are like heroin to me–very addictive, although I have no chance of dying from them. Today, over at Bitten By Books, there’s another contest going on. If you haven’t visited Bitten By Books before, I suggest you do so. Not only do you get to enter uber awesome contests, you get to learn a lot about the different authors who are interviewed there. Also, if you’re uncertain about a certain book, the ladies at BBB also do book reviews, so you can read up on the many books they’ve reviewed over there to see if anything interesting catches your eye. Plus, who can go wrong with a free book?? In these hard economic times, the generosity these authors show is overwhelming to me. I’m really very grateful that they are offering these great prizes, even if I don’t win. I get to know that someone is excited and grateful to receive something, and that makes me feel good too.
Anyway, the contest over at BBB is for Night of the Loving Dead by Casey Daniels. Head on over and try to get you the sole copy up for grabs! Here’s the link: http://bittenbybooks.com/?p=4679
In other news, I received two pieces of email today that totally made my day. The first was from Shannon K. Butcher, the author of Burning Alive: The Sentinel Wars, the book that mysteriously showed up in my mailbox yesterday. She assured me that due to the circumstances, the book is definitely legit, and I have no worries of any crazy stalkers trying to win me over with the arrival of a free book. I was surprised that she emailed me, to say the least. I had no idea that my blog would solicit an answer that quickly. Due to the lack of responses, I didn’t think many people see what I blog about. It’s nice to see that someone has visited me. The other email was from BBB. I won a set of Night Life and Pure Blood from Caitlin Kittredge! That’s really awesome for me, since I’ve said before that I don’t have any money to quench my brain munchie thirst for books. I’m in heaven right now, lol.
The mystery is solved. It was Amazon giving me a free book 😛
Anyway, there’s a lot of new giveaways happening around here! Bitten By Books is doing some giveaways for three different authors. This time, fifteen copies of Kitty Raises Hell by Carrie Vaughn are up for grabs, as well as a copy of Linda Wisdom’s new release Wicked By Any Other Name, and one of ten copies of Anton Strout’s Deader Still.
Nalini Singh is also giving away a bunch of books over at her blog to celebrate her release of Angels’ Blood. http://www.nalinisingh.blogspot.com/
And last, but not least, over at Amanda Ashby’s blog, she’s also celebrating a new release, Zombie Queen of Newbury High. She’s giving away all kinds of stuff, even from other authors, so get your patooties over there! http://amandaashby.blogspot.com/2009/02/lets-get-this-party-started.html
I just received a mysterious package in the mail today…I don’t know who it came from, nor did I order it, but on the box it says amazon.com. Does anyone know what the Vine_Program is??? On the invoice that came inside the box, at the top left corner it says Vine_Program. At the top of the book, it says “Uncorrected Proofs for Limited Distribution. NOT FOR SALE.” The book is called Burning Alive: The Sentinel Wars by Shannon K. Butcher. I don’t recall entering a contest for it at all. If you know who sent it, or if you were the one, please let me know ASAP. I’m starting to get a little nervous…
