Giveaway: Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory

Posted on: July 8, 2009

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.

knight of desire

From Margaret’s website:

FEARLESS IN BATTLE

His surcoat still bloody from battle, William FitzAlan comes to claim the strategic borderlands granted to him by the king. One last prize awaits him at the castle gates: the lovely Lady Catherine Rayburn.

TENDER IN BED

Catherine risked everything to spy for the crown. Her reward? Her lands are declared forfeit and she is given this choice: marry FitzAlan or be taken to the Tower. Catherine agrees to give her handsome new husband her body, but she’s keeping secrets and dares not give him her heart. As passion ignites and danger closes in, Catherine and William must learn to trust in each other to save their marriage, their land, and their very lives.

Thanks to Anna at Hachette, I have permission to give out 5 copies of Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory.

what I like is I can get a little taste of history with a lot of romance con5459(at)gmail(dot)com

No need to enter me, babe. I’m dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I’ve got this posted at Win a Book for you.

I like the history part – learning about different times and places. I also like the insight into relationship dynamics in those times.

I love getting the history and I love transporting myself to another time through the pages of a book

oh i’d love the chance to win! i heart medieval romances, but they are so rare! all the broadswoards, destriers, kirtles, and surcoats, love ’em! not only do i enjoy reading them for the history coming to life, but also just for the escapist fantasy into when men were MEN and women wore pretty dresses. well if you were a noblewoman anyway…

thanks for hosting this!

+10 I just went and voted in your poll 🙂

+10 I tweeted your giveaway (www.twitter.com/r8chieg)

+5 It may sound cliche but I like thie history in historical romances. I like reading about the horses and the architecture…the different language connotations. 🙂 It’s fun!

Hmmm – I think I like the escape aspect. It’s why I also go for urban fantasy as well – there’s no place like it in the world!

Posted on June Round-up Post – that’s a quite a list. As I said, I’m coming back there when I need new book suggestions.

What I like about historical romances is that you get to “travel” to different times and places and experience how it was then through the hero and heroine’s story.

I cast my vote in your poll.

I love reading historicals, because I get to visit previous times without the incovenience (No bathrooms!). Plus, I will learn a little history, without it being boring.

I really like historical romances. It just takes you back to a different time where the mannerisms between the man and the women are very defined and different from todays.

I also voted in your poll

+5 The thing I like best about historical romances is learning of days gone by. These books are such an escape & I learn something in the process.

+10 I voted in your book giveaway poll

I like the lies and intrigue of court life and I am an old soul, I think I should have been born in another time.
I tweeted and I voted in your poll already and I am headed over to your Update post after this.

i love temporarily escaping into another time and place!! i just voted on ur book giveaway post too …. thanks!!

I like that you are going to a different place and time than the present.

What I like about historical romances is that it’s a time and place that I can’t experience in RL.

I voted in your poll.

I like reading about the way they lived, dressed, ate, etc.
None of these women had to do housework-lol-unless they were a servant.

I like historical romances because they transport you to another world. Why is it that the past always seems to be more romantic? 🙂

[…] Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory from Bibliophiles ‘R’ Us. Ends July 17 […]

I like to imagine living in a different time.

I voted in the poll for Eve of Darkness.

I read historical romances because I am a history lover. I enjoy going back to another era where the rules and challenges were different. I like authors who research the time period well and stay as true as possible to the era. I like the little details of the life and society of the time.
I voted in the Poll. Good choices.
I am commenting on Diary of Cozette and Off Season.
