Giveaway: One Scream Away by Kate Brady

Posted on: July 17, 2009

From Kate’s website:

One step away…

Seven years ago Beth Denison was attacked by a killer named Chevy Bankes. Since then, she’s created a new life for herself and her daughter, one far removed from the night that ended in an awful tragedy. But now Bankes is out of prison, and his chilling phone calls tell Beth he’s coming for her.

One breath away…

Ex-FBI agent Neil Sheridan is driven to investigate a chain of murders that are eerily similar to a disturbing case from his past. When the killer’s trail dead-ends at Beth’s doorstep, Neil finds a beautiful woman with a secret she’ll do anything to keep. Yet even as Beth surrenders to Neil’s protection – and then his embrace – she can’t tell him why Bankes hungers to hear her scream, and why she’ll soon consider doing the unthinkable: face Bankes alone.

How do I feel about e-book readers? On one hand as a tree hugger, I applaud the trees that are saved by this format. On another as a book lover, nothing beats holding a book in your hand and turning the pages.

In the end I think I would prefer an actual book to a Kindle.

+10 I voted on the poll, I’m comment #39.

Thanks for the opportunity! Indigo

No need to enter me. I’m here to say thanks for the e-mail. I’ve posted this at Win a Book.

Oh, and I totally lust for an e-reader of some sort.

I don’t think I’d like a reader. I like holding the book and turning the pages!! I’m a tactile person!!!

I voted in the poll. Im #1.

I would like to own an ereader but right now they’re too expensive and I just can’t justify the cost. Once I do get one I’ll still read print books but having an ereader would give me more options and allow me to carry more books with me on trips.

I voted in the poll. 🙂

I’m usually not much for mysteries, but this one sounds pretty darn good. Would ❤ a chance to read it!

Answer to the Question: I have yet to even see an electronic reader..I'm still a print kinda girl. I'm sure their cool, but financially it's just not a viable option for me yet. I enjoy holding a book in my hands too but as I said, I havn't tried one yet and I may really like it!

I twittered this contest (

I voted in your book giveaway poll 🙂 VERY FUN!

It took me a while but I’ve come around to liking the idea of e-readers. I don’t think I’d ever go over completely to them but there’s plenty of books that I’d be just as happy downloading to a e-reader as I would be buying a paper copy – in fact, I already download and read quite a few on my computer. I also like the fact that I can carry around a lot of books in the same space as one book – especially when traveling. Plus, if I decide I don’t want to keep the story, I can delete it without all the guilt of throwing away a perfectly good book. ;0) I don’t own an e-reader yet, but I have no doubt I will in the near future. I just wish they weren’t so expensive!

I voted and commented on your poll already. :0)

I am not interested in Kindle readers and the like. I am a very sensory person. I like the feel of the book, the sound of the pages turning, the look of the covers. I’m addicted to “books”, and to me a reader is not a book.

I’m interested in trying out an electronic reader such as the Kindle!! They’re $299 now but maybe later when the price/if it does drop, I’d love to purchase one!!

I think a Kindle would be great for traveling and cut down on the weight of a bunch of books. I still like reading a hard cover book though.

+5 I’m not sure I would like an electronic reader. I would probably have more eye strain reading a book from a reader than from a print copy.

Thanks ~ megalon22{at}yahoo{dot}com

Would love to have an ereader! So far I’m not fond of ebooks, but that could be because I have to lug around my laptop to read them…

I have never used an eReader, but my eyes fatigue at work on the computer, why wouldn’t they do the same with the eReader? I like the soothing quiet of reading by soft light and think the electronic reader would steal that peace away.

I am a follower and would love to win this book,

I don’t like electronic readers. I prefer a regular book, and always will. Please enter me. Thanks for having this giveaway.
